Have you ever really looked at the bones of Crushed Souls?

Most of them are so rotten they crumble in your hand, but a few are strong as steel--hard enough that you could grind one into a blade.

• "Interesting..."

And I'd like to try. Care to collect some Hard Bones for me?

Not all the bones, just a few hard ones.

I have a gift for you if you'll help.

• Accept.
• Decline.

Great! So remember, I can't use the fragile bones--only the Hard Bones.

I hope this works.

• "We'll know soon."

Ladacus needs some Crushed Soul bones for a project. You promised to find Crushed Souls and bring him any hard bones.

Back with the Hard Bones?

I'm planning to make daggers from them. With their weight and strength, they're perfect.

Show me what you have.

• "These are the best of them."

Balfire and shadows! Not nearly enough!

Okay, calm down. Think it through. How many did you kill? Are you sure you looked carefully?

Try one more time, all right? Look for Hard Bones, remember.

• "One more try."

See? They're hard, flexible, and light!

In this misshapen body I may not be much of a craftsman, but at least I have good materials.

This is the reward that I promised. You did very well, my friend.

Ladacus has noticed that some Crushed Soul bones are hard enough to use as weapons.

He wanted some of these hard bones to craft into a dagger, so you hunted some Crushed Souls and brought their bones. He was grateful and went excitedly to work.
