AION Classic 5.0 Soul Reaper patch notes

Update 5.0 for AION Classic Europe is called Soul Reaper. It adds a new class, a tutorial dungeon and four new dungeons, changes how equipment is enchanted, lets accessories be refined, opens a Kinah market in the Global Auction House and replaces the title list. The sections below follow the official patch notes, which say that details may still differ in the final game. All times are server time.

The Soul Reaper class

The Soul Reaper attacks with physical and magic damage at the same time. It fights with the new Soulblade and can wear several armour types. How much a skill does depends on the character's physical attack and Magic Boost.

SkillWhat it does
Final ExecutionTeleports to a target within 20 m whose maximum HP is below a set threshold and deals damage in proportion to that maximum HP, with a chance to kill instantly. More physical attack shortens the cooldown; more Magic Boost raises the chance to kill.
Soul PactWhen HP would fall to 0 within a set time, the Soul Rest state starts. In it you recover HP in proportion to your maximum HP, while your maximum HP keeps falling and your resistance to status effects rises sharply. Reaching 0 HP in Soul Rest kills you; dealing the final blow to a creature ends it. More physical attack shortens the cooldown and more Magic Boost lengthens the duration.
Ice Blood IRaises damage against the marked target and slows it. Damage drops if another target attacks you or you attack another target. More physical attack shortens the cooldown.
Blade AvalancheDeals physical damage and slows the target; two stacks of the slow immobilise it. It casts three times and can add magic damage to targets in front of you. More Magic Boost raises the chance of the extra damage and widens its area.
Evading Shadow IRemoves physical status ailments and restores HP. For a short time it blocks one physical or magic attack, raises resistance to silence and bind and reduces incoming damage. More physical attack shortens the cooldown and more Magic Boost lengthens the duration.
A hooded fighter trailing violet afterimages cuts a colossal stone guardian with a curved blade of pale light while ghostly figures stream out of the impact
Soul Reaper skills scale with both physical attack and Magic Boost.

Soul Reaper stigmas are sold on the skill vendor's stigma list. Skill books and stigmas for the class are also rewards in instances and raids, and the Soulblade has been added to the equipment rewards.

New dungeons

Every new dungeon allows one entry per day and resets daily at 9 AM. The dungeons guide lists the mechanics and rewards of each.

Sunayaka’s Treasure Chamber. Rewards include Sunayaka's Mask, Enchantment Stones, flux, Balaurea Chronicle Bookmark Fragments, Abyss Relics, a Rare Manastone Bundle and Eternal Tribunal weapons. The bookmark fragments can be crafted into the finished bookmark at Siel's Anvil and can be traded globally. If the boss drops below 50 percent HP, the Golden Vault reward can be collected after 10 minutes.

Arena of Fate. A solo fight against Inferneos that ends after 3 minutes or on death. Your score follows the damage you deal, weighted by class, and is recorded on a leaderboard. Rewards depend on your final rank and include large amounts of experience and Forgotten Memory Fragments.

Secret of the Cube Trial. A 5 minute trial around the Infinity Cube. Attacking the cube makes fragments appear, and handing Infinity Cube Fragments to Vindachinerk's Phantom makes a reward cube appear. Reward cubes give a Sacred Cube Fragments Chest, relic chests, Eternal Tribunal weapons and Mysterious Cube Crystals, with a chance of Eternal Dusk weapons. Collected crystals assemble into a Mysterious Cube that can yield a Medal, a Holy Medal or Vindachinerk’s Sparkling Earring.

Tiamat’s Sanctuary. The new Raging Dragon Lord's weapons, the extendable Rage-Twisted Dragon Lord's weapons, Tiamat's armour, Rampaging Tiamat's armour and the offence-focused Raging Dragon Lord’s Earring drop here, along with the Perfect Skill Book Chest (level 65). The chests of Shaborkan, Terath, Tahabata and Tiamat can be reopened with Kinah up to five times, and each retry costs more.

Land of Shadows is a new tutorial instance that you can experience during character creation. Boss monsters in Phaestos’ Disc, Tartarus, Wall of Lament and Dokkaebi Realm rise from level 65 to level 70, and Beast Rival War now requires level 60 to register. Extra time-limited entry scrolls for several instances can be bought from Dungeoninerk for Kinah.

Enchanting

  • Enchanting succeeds every time for equipment up to and including fabled quality.
  • Eternal equipment no longer drops a level and resets when an attempt fails; it keeps its level.
  • A failed attempt stores part of the success chance you used. On a retry within the same enchantment range the stored chance is added.
  • One type of Enchantment Stone replaces the level-based stones. Old stones dismantle at Siel's Hammer into the new stones and stone fragments, and fragments turn into stones at Siel's Anvil.
  • Equipment extraction has been removed.

The enchanting guide explains each rule with the stones, upgrades and Combat Talent changes.

Refining and Siel's Anvil

Accessories of eternal quality or higher can now be refined with flux. Probability decides which refinement attribute an accessory gets, how large its value is and how many attributes it has, and refinement attributes are kept when the accessory is upgraded. Flux comes from crafting at Siel's Anvil, from instance rewards and from exchanging Arcanium in Teva. Accessories of the Guardian and Archon Brigade General cannot be refined.

Siel's Anvil gains new recipes. Flaming Transcendence is crafted from five Transcendence Crystals, each dropped with a certain probability in one region regardless of level.

Other new recipes cover the Holy Medal and Holy Medal Fragment, the Balaurea Chronicle Bookmark, Ariel's Agent Ring, Prismatic Flux, the Eternity Skill Book Chest and Eternity Stigma Chest (guaranteed crafting with Medals is possible), the Wrathful Balaur Lord’s Weapon Selection Box for 750 Balaur Lord’s Red Crystal and the Raging Tiamat’s Armour Selection Box for 200. A limited crafting tab has been added.

Trading

The Kinah Marketplace guide covers the new tab and the features that end.

  • A Kinah Marketplace joins the Global Auction House, which now has a Quna tab and a Kinah tab. The minimum registration unit is 200,000 Kinah, the same as in the Quna Marketplace.
  • A Bill Details tab shows the settlement history of the last 28 days and the settled amounts of sold items.
  • Categories are now Equipment, Skill, Enchantment, Material, Appearance and Other. Each subcategory holds up to two favourites, and the 10 second search restriction is gone.
  • The selling service through the Trade Broker is discontinued, and so are personal trading, personal shops, mail attachments, temporary trading and group billing.

Titles

The title system is rebuilt around Title Cards. Using a Title Card grants its title, and you pick an owned title from a list. Colour and size depend on the type and tier of the title. Titles you already own that are not kept are converted into new titles or into Title Badges. A time-limited title with 30 days or less left pays out a Rare Title Badge every 2 days. With more than 30 days left it becomes a Title Card, and a Rare Title Badge follows every 2 days after the first 30 days. The titles guide covers the details.

Combat Talent, Moreth and progression

  • Combat Talent rankings now pay rewards, updated daily at 9 AM. Ranks 1 to 300 are rewarded server-wide across all classes, and ranks 1 to 20 per server and class. A rank symbol appears before the character name in chat.
  • From level 69 you can also claim item and Combat Talent rewards for the level and experience you have reached.
  • Daeva's Journey missions have been added from level 60, with weekly missions and longer achievement missions.
  • In Moreth, lower levels earn more Record Points: levels 1 to 4 double and levels 5 to 7 by a factor of 1.5.
  • The Altar of Transcendence shows the expected result of an item fusion before you commit.
  • Two one-handed weapons now share enchantment bonuses. The physical attack and Magic Boost gained on the left weapon apply to the right weapon at 100 percent, and the godstone chance penalty on the left weapon is gone.

Tiamaranta Mesa, Teva and Balaurea

Sandstorm targets in Tiamaranta Mesa have higher stats and better rewards, including a chance for manastones and Daeva's Relics. On the battleships a Special Shugo Trader sells limited daily goods such as Prismatic Flux bundles, enchantment chests and additional entry scrolls. In Teva the Golden Apple Trees have more Arcanium Trees, and the time to recapture the Golden Apple Trees changes from 30 to 60 seconds.

Balaurea now has boss monsters from level 10 to level 60 in Inggison and Gelkmaros. Defeating them can yield manastones and Daeva's Relics.
