There’s a lot of work to be done, but the pay is low. The inhabitants regard mercenaries as simple messengers.

I should work here until the Kerubar problem is resolved. Who knows when I’ll be able to leave this place?!

I can’t say it to the Captain’s face, but I want to be transferred to another village.

You won’t know anything about it as a rookie, but when you work in a rich village, you get double the pay!

• "Others are selling them?"

I’ve stayed here because I have a little side hustle in Daminu Forest. But some even want to stop that.

There are mushrooms with a unique flavour that grow deep in the moist earth.

I don’t know what they taste like, but the villagers here see them as the best ingredient there is.

It would be a good idea to collect mushrooms when things are quiet and sell them to Uno.

But these mushrooms are nowhere to be found lately.

• You keep listening.

It seemed pretty strange to me and I also know whose fault it is. A Shortbristle Bellepig has eaten everything.

If they go to a certain place and sniff around, there are mushrooms there.

The General wasn’t sure whether or not to induct you into the band of mercenaries. You have suffered from memory loss and have nowhere to go. I convinced him to accept you!

So, how about you demonstrate your loyalty now?

I will give you some of my earnings. Please kill the Shortbristle Bellepig for me.

• Accept.
• Decline.

Smart choice, Daeva. I knew I could count on you.

Just head a little further into the forest, and you'll find plenty of Shortbristle Bellepigs to get started on. We'll meet back here when you're done.

• "Okay. See you soon."

Ampeis earns an additional income by selling the mushrooms growing in the ground. But the Shortbristle Bellepig is digging the mushrooms up and eating them. You will have to help Ampeis.

Done with the Shortbristle Bellepigs already?

I haven't even gone out to do my part yet! You must be pretty fast.

• You give your report.

Great work! Now I can get to my favourite spot and collect a good batch of mushrooms!

I had a good feeling about you, back when we first voted to let you into the unit. I see now I was right to speak on your behalf.

Here's your cut. A good day's work isn't always its own reward, Daeva.

You helped Ampeis get his side job back by hunting the Bellepigs that were eating the mushrooms.
