I can peer into another's soul with the power of the Obelisk.

Yours is as clear and transparent as a crystal, Daeva.

I swear on the names of the Five Shedim Lords. But there is more you must know.

• "More?"

The mystical capabilities of the Obelisk are astounding. Most interesting is how it can record a person's soul.

The Shadow Court forbids it, but I am researching how this happens.

• "What does this have to do with me?"

In you, I see great power. Power enough to break the chains holding me back.

Do not worry, it is not your soul I need, but your bravery. Soul Essences are necessary to prove my theory, and they're...difficult to acquire.

But you could retrieve Soul Essences safely, I know it. Will you assist?

• Accept.
• Decline.

Below us in Impetusium are wandering souls, still playing at life.

The fallen were formidable warriors once and guard their Soul Essences fiercely.

Be careful, Daeva. I would not see you join them.

• "I won't."

Get rid of the souls in Impetusium to acquire Soul Essences for Andgar's research.

Did you find any Soul Essences?

I felt a change in the Obelisk as you approached, as if the energy of the souls is diminishing.

Tell me of your efforts.

• "It was just like you said...."

They were among the best of us. There is no guilt in failure.

The dead cling dearly to their half-existence. Our work eases their burdens. Please continue.

• "Just need to catch my breath...."

You have done well. The courage I saw was real.

Remember, our efforts must remain secret. The Shadow Court would see us imprisoned for our noble intentions. Where is the justice in that?

Please take this to seal our bargain. We will not speak of this again.

While conducting research on the Obelisk, Andgar started worrying about the shortage of research materials. You hunted souls in Impetusium to bring Soul Essences to him.
