No, no. You can't just tie the Piece of Aegis to the hilt of your sword! It doesn't work that way.

• "Then how does it work?"

Only a few Daevas can handle a Piece of Aegis. If you take it and your Laestrygos's Sword to Anusis, he can combine them into a powerful weapon.

None of this string-toy stuff, as though you're going to dangle it in front of your playful kitter.

And don't forget to bring at least 8,000,000 Kinah. This is delicate, specialised work!

• Accept.
• Decline.

Anusis works out of Artisans Hall in Sanctum.

He and I used to work together, you know. Oh, yes. We were very close. Always together, always excited about something. My best and most creative work got done in those days.

But he gets impatient. Some Daevas see that as arrogance, but I promise you his attitude stems from his genius. He's impatient only because he is already so far ahead of you. Even if you don't like the way he talks, you will receive an amazing weapon.

• "I can deal with an irascible genius."

Laestrygos said you should see Anusis, a master craftsman who can combine your Piece of Aegis and Laestrygos's Sword. Go to Sanctum.

Well? Spit it out!

There's a Lighterica concert starting in ten.

• "Laestrygos gave me this Piece of Aegis...."

So Laestry's still in the weapons business, eh? Wonder where he got his hands on a Piece of Aegis?

Can't say I like you much right now, but I'll do this for him.

Let me see. Laestrygos's Sword...a Piece of Aegis.... That'll come out to 8,000,000 Kinah up front. And if you think that's too expensive, good luck finding someone cheaper who won't break this gorgeous sword.

• "I trust you. Here you go!"
• "You've got to be kidding me. No way in Balaurea."

Look, kid, come back when you have everything, all right? A Piece of Aegis, Laestrygos's Sword, and 8 million Kinah.

Oh, and make sure you don't have the sword equipped. I don't want to try and wrestle it out of your hands, kid.

• "I'm not a kid! Stop calling me that!"

Ooooh. I see. This Piece of Aegis.... No need to warm the forge, just--ah--accept its power into my soul and twist a little....

Mmmmm, concentrating on the Aegis is almost...impossible. Now, to add in the sword. Oh, hello, Laestry. That's....mmmm...different. Yes...wow.

Well, Daeva, here's your new sword. What do you think? Do you like it?

Laestrygos gave you a Piece of Aegis and said you should go to Anusis, a master craftsman who could combine it and your Laestrygos's Sword into a powerful new weapon.

When you went to Anusis in Sanctum, he successfully imbued the sword with the power of the Piece of Aegis.
