When you live in the middle of the desert, you can forget what pleasure means.

By day, you must work in the heat, and by night you have to shiver at your post.

It's the same routine every day. No hobbies, no privacy.

• "Surely it's not all bad."

All I do is work--it's no life at all.

But someone has to stand here, and it might as well be me.

I had a thought, though. Maybe there is something I can do, with your help.

• "If I can help, I will."

I used to make small trinkets for children. Bracelets, that sort of thing. I've looked for materials out here, but they're scarce.

On my last patrol, I saw a lot of Basilisk and Scolopen bodies. I could make some good toys and trinkets out of them, I think.

Could you bring me some Basilisk Fangs and Scolopen Pincerss?

• Accept.
• Decline.

Life is hard here for everyone, not just soldiers.

The look on a child's face when they get something new, it makes it all worthwhile.

Please get me some Basilisk Fangs and Scolopen Pincerss. You'll be surprised what I can make from those.

• "It's no problem at all."

Hunt Scolopens and Basilisks for accessory materials, so that Makarion can make gifts for children.

Back so soon?

I didn't mean for you to rush, but I do appreciate it.

Have you got things things I asked for?

• "Here's what I found."

You did agree to help, and I can't start without the materials I need.

Do your other tasks, and when you make some time, please try to find the Basilisk Fangs and Scolopen Pincerss for me.

• "I'll be right back."

Great job. These will do nicely.

Now that I have materials, I can make those toys.

Thanks to you Daeva, the children's days will be a little happier.

Makarion wanted to make toys for local children to ease their daily lives.

Since he was concerned about materials, you hunted Scolopens and Basilisks for what he needed to make gifts.
