Personally, I trust your ability, Daeva. But that's not how things are handled on an official level.

The last requirement is proof of your ability to make a rare piece of Handicrafting.

• "What do you mean by 'rare?'"

A rare item is one that's difficult to craft--beautiful, powerful, and a perfect example of its kind.

For example, making Vidar's Noble Necklace is an excellent way to prove your ability.

Would you like to try?

Good.

Make Vidar's Noble Necklace. It's more complex than Vidar's Necklace, but you've got the skills for the task.

Good luck!

• "Thanks!"

Lanse said you need to prove your ability to receive the title of Handicrafting Expert. Show your talent by making Vidar's Noble Necklace.

One of a Master's most important responsibilities is nurturing successors, so I expect a lot from you, Daeva.

Were you able to make Vidar's Noble Necklace?

• "Here's my necklace."

This isn't bad, but it's not what I've come to expect from you.

You can--and will--do better if you apply yourself.

Try again--make another Vidar's Noble Necklace and bring it here.

• "I'll do the best I can."

Excellent! Well proportioned, delicately wrought--this is a fine necklace!

Now I'm confident enough to recommend you as a Handicrafting Expert without hesitation.

I'm quite pleased--you'll make a good successor.

You made Vidar's Noble Necklace and took it to her as she requested. She was pleased, saying she'd finally found her successor.
