People insist on getting lost in the desert. I've placed warning signs wherever dangerous animals roam, but wood cracks and crumbles in this parched land.

If I don't make the signposts with the hardest wood, they are soon useless.

• "I understand how that would be a problem."

Ulmus is some of the most durable wood found nearby. But I can't leave my post now. I need to guard against marauding animals.

Would you please bring me some Ulmus Logs?

• Accept.
• Decline.

Thank you Daeva. Please collect 15 Ulmus Logs for me.

The warning signs might save a life, so I don't mind taking a little extra care in making them.

Don't worry--I'm not asking you to do this for free!

• "There's no need to pay me."

Take wood to Arkel, who wants to warn the villagers by setting up signposts at dangerous spots.

As the people fled their once-productive villages, the animals grew bold. Now they've started to prey on people. I hope the signposts help guide people away from danger.

Did you collect the Ulmus Logs?

• "Here are the Ulmus Logs you requested."

Ulmus trees used to be quite common around here. Perhaps the Maeki or Spiners are eating them? Or they may have gotten a disease. I suppose that's why you're having a hard time finding them.

Please keep looking.

• "I'll keep at it."

Perfect! This wood is hard and fine-grained.

It'll make some sturdy signposts!

Here's a little something for bringing the wood. Thank you.

Arkel is a Daeva who guards a remote village. She was worried that the residents might get attacked by fierce animals.

She set up signposts at dangerous spots, but the wood was poor and they rotted away easily.

You brought sturdy wood for her to make new signposts.
