Fortune, destiny, fate! Whatever you call it, it is not written in stone. No, it swirls like the Aether, like...

Wait a minute, you're Daeva. I do apologise. No more mystical stuff for you.

• "There'd better not be."

Well, you can't blame me for catering to the majority of my audience, can you? Most of them want this to seem difficult, out of the ordinary. For me, it's just what I do.

I offer them the same deal I'm about to offer you, though: give me just one small trinket that symbolizes your prowess in battle, and I can influence your fortune for the better.

• Accept.
• Decline.

That's the spirit! Now, just get past stage four of the Crucible Challenge. That's it! Finish that stage, grab the Crucible Mark you find, and bring it to me.

I'll make sure to use my influence in your favour.

• "I might have a mark now."

Take a Crucible Mark to Kjander.

Good job, Daeva!

That is to say, I assume you've been to the Crucible Challenge and brought me back my mark?

• "Of course I have."

I know, I know. What I asked does involve some work, but I really thought that it'd be no big deal to someone like you.

Now, if you still want my help, you'll have to hurry. I can't stick around here forever just for one person.

• "I'll be right back."

Would you look at that? Finally, a Sparkling Crucible Mark! I never thought I'd really see one.

It sparkles so much I can hardly look at it!

Well, no more worries about your future. This has certainly sealed it. Now get going so I can do my ritual.

You brought Kjander a Crucible Mark from the Crucible Challenge, because he said he could use it to give your fate a push in the right direction.

Somehow the deal left you feeling slimy, and possibly cheated.
