My job is to keep track of morale in the fortress and report to Nerita. Now, I've been a little busy with other things this week, so I haven't been able to give that job my full attention, but I know this much--people are pretty nervous.

• "Why's that?"

The fortress has started collapsing again. Just last week a big piece fell down and killed a guy, so that's got everybody shaken up. I don't think we'll ever manage to clean up that blood stain on the flagstones.

• "Ouch."

No kidding. Now, I've still got a lot on my plate, but I need someone to go out and judge the mood in the fortress for certain.

You're a good people person, right?

• Accept.
• Decline.

There's really only three people whose opinions I want to hear.

A Sentinel--let's say Nornen. Ask her how many fragments have been falling lately--she patrols around a lot, so she'd know.

I'll want to hear from a Human resident, so...how about Regin? And then go talk to Bestla and see whether she's gotten any closer to solving the problem.

• "I'll start now."

Find out how the fortress residents feel about the falling fragments and report to Hod.

• "Hod wants to know about fragments...."

Well, let me put it this way--these days I look up at the sky instead of down at the ground when I patrol.

Nothing's fallen lately, but after last week...you never can tell.

• "Thanks for your time."

A Daeva? I haven't done anything wrong! I pray every night, you know!

• "Relax. I just want to talk."

I'm real nervous about it. I've been praying to Marchutan every night that nothing lands on me.

That guy last week....

• "I totally understand."

Watch out for falling rocks!

• "Speaking of which...."

I told them--I'm a Daeva of Construction, not a Daeva of Time and Space. Of course I can tell you the fortress is falling apart! Anyone with eyes can see that!

The problem's with the Artefact of Time and Space, and I have no clue how to fix that!

• "Interesting.... Thanks."

So, what's the word on the street?

• "Well..."

Sounds real bad. I hope we get the Artefact fixed soon. We should've repaired this place a long time ago, but I guess all the Brigade Generals kept figuring the Artefact would hold things up forever...
