I was sent here to support the Reians, but the job's been a lot bigger than I thought.

I thought those Dragonbound were just a few ragtag maniacs, but they're a fearsome fighting force, especially with brainwashed Reians on their side.

I've sent for reinforcements, but I have no idea when the fortress will have any to spare. Could you lend us your aid?

• Accept.
• Decline.

You must have seen the Manticores on the way here. The Dragonbound use them to track, harry, and capture Reian tribesmen.

It's strange, because Manticores are very wild and normally untamable. I think the shackles on their legs have something to do with it. If I could examine them, I might be able to counteract their magic.

Hunt Tamed Manticores in Subterranea and bring me their Manticore's Shackles.

• "The task is mine."

Gather Manticore's Shackles for Fjoelnir to find out how the Dragonbound have tamed the Manticores.

I just got a missive from the fortress. They can't spare any reinforcements yet. I'll just have to help the Reians hold out until then.

Did you manage to find me Manticore's Shackles?

• "Got them right here."

Actually, no, you don't. At least, not enough for me to really get answers from.

You'll find more Tamed Manticores with the Dragonbound in Subterranea.

I know it's difficult, but this is an important task.

• "One I will complete."

These don't seem any different from ordinary.... Aha! There are runes etched on the inside of the cuff. That's probably it.

This kind of magic is beyond me, actually. I'll have the Spiritmasters at the fortress look them over.

Both the Reians and I are grateful, Daeva. I'll let you know what turns up.

Fjoelnir of the Pandaemonium Expeditionary Force has seen Reians attacked by the Dragonbound's Manticores. He believes the Manticore's Shackles explain how the Dragonbound tamed these untamable beasts.

You obtained some Manticore's Shackles for him, and Fjoelnir said he would send them to the fortress for examination.
