You have...saved our lives, Daeva. Yet as one problem fades away...another comes to prominence.

The soil has...changed. Something new is in it, and now...we must contend with others for our minerals...and water.

• "What? Who?"

The Marshland Mudthorns take nutrients from the ground that...would feed us. Normally...we would cope, but after the Slime poison, the trees...and the Elim...are weak.

• "What can I do?"

Remove...the Marshland Mudthorns.

The task is simple, as are...the consequences of...inaction.

• Accept.
• Decline.

Make haste...Daeva.

The Marshland Mudthorns are in...and around the Putrid Mire. They must be killed before they take...everything that is good...from the soil.

• "I'll take care of them for you."

Hunt the Mudthorns that have been sucking nutrients from the soil, depriving the trees and the Elim of their nourishment.

Daeva....

Did you kill the Marshland Mudthorns? The roots of the forest...are running deeper into Atreia...searching for food. We starve...!

• "I've done what you asked."

Thank you...again.

In time...the forest will recover. We will blossom again, and stand proud...and tall...again. Thank you.

Virdi was concerned that Marshland Mudthorns had been consuming all the nutrients in the soil, leaving none for the trees.

You killed the Mudthorns as he asked, giving him hope that the forest would soon be revived.
