Story
The offer
In Inggison the Elyos are considering many measures to secure victory, but the situation is far from favourable.
The offensive takes priority for victory in the war, but you, having only recently arrived in Balaurea, cannot be sent to the front lines.
First, your task is to acclimatise to the conditions in Inggison; I give you that as your assignment.
Meet Caceus. He will tell you what to do.
- You end the conversation.

Along the way
In Inggison, Tiamat’s influences and unstable ground and air conditions have severely affected the environment.
If you act incorrectly, you risk being carried into unwanted areas or falling.
- You keep listening.
Our Sanctum expedition squad has decided to use Inggison’s unsettled land and atmosphere to our advantage.
The strong winds that blow over Inggison are to be used to quickly reach otherwise hard-to-reach or hostile areas.
We call this the Windstream and will give a brief explanation of its use and locations.
- You keep listening.
If you use the windstream correctly, you can defeat enemies in difficult areas or quickly retreat when the situation is unfavourable.
Therefore, if you support the troops in Inggison, you must learn how to use the windstream and where it is located.
Explaining this remarkable method is the responsibility of the technicians who maintain the flying machines.
Go to Laokon and have him explain the exact use of the Windstream.
- You end the conversation.
What? You came to ask about the base?
You already knew that? Very well. Even if you do, since it’s a request from Caceus, I’ll explain it to you.
Due to pressure differences, air currents have developed in Balaurea, which we call windstreams.
- You keep listening.
If you use a windstream in places with large changes in altitude, you can quickly reach faraway areas.
You jump in and let the wind carry you.
If you want to land en route, aim for an edge and simply exit the windstream.
There are many windstreams in Inggison; if you use them you may discover places where something has crashed.
- You keep listening.
That’s just dry theory! You need to try it to really understand it!
I find it hard to explain, but there are people who won’t understand no matter how much you tell them. I don’t necessarily mean you. Don’t you often learn faster by doing than by words?
There is one particularly strong wind current for practising. It is the fiercest windstream in Inggison.
That can’t be helped, because it lies right next to the Inggison fortress! That’s why it’s called Illusion Fortress Windstream
If you jump into the windstream, spread your wings and trust the strong airflow, you’ll be lifted up. However, the first windstream ends quickly. Then you must, without hesitation, catch the second windstream.
Make sure to take the Phanoe Windstream here. Simply let this stream carry you until you jump into the next windstream into the Phanoe Valley.
If everything goes well, you’ll arrive at Taloc’s Hill. At the arrival point Harami will be studying the windstreams. You are to meet her there.
- You keep listening.
Using the windstreams is a trivial matter for someone like me, but there are Daevas to whom it does not come easily.
Well, give it a try. Not everyone has this talent from birth.
If flying with the windstreams is too frightening for you, you can take on other tasks.
There are no drawbacks if you decline, but if you want to try the windstreams I’ll pay you a small compensation. Think it over carefully and then decide.
If you accept the windstream mission, take the Illusion Fortress Windstream and meet Harami. If not, investigate the Deteriorated Obelisk.
How should we approach it?
- I’ll undertake the windstream mission.
- I will not undertake the windstream mission.
Someone observed from a distance the person in charge taking the windstream and flying away.
Don’t forget to flap your wings, as I always say.
It’s not the wings that get you, but what happens when they stop beating.
- You keep listening.
By the way, are you doing anything right now?
If not, could you perhaps help me?
- What is it about?
Some time ago the Hikiron Farm Draconutes appear to have attached a device to the northern obelisk. Since then the obelisk hasn’t been functioning properly.
However, I don’t trust myself to repair something like that or to diagnose the problem.
If that’s alright, could you please check the Deteriorated Obelisk for me?
If you find the cause, report it to the scholar Ambred and ask him to repair it!
- I’ll take a look.
(Near the obelisk a faint crackling like static electricity can be heard and a slight tremor is felt.)
(By contrast, the obelisk seems to be out of order and shows no reaction.)
- You take a closer look.
(On the obelisk there are plate imprints from Draconute devices everywhere, like scars.)
(There are also red/crusted residues there, as if the obelisk’s power source had been removed.)
(The traces lead in the direction of the Hikiron Farm.)
(Go to the Hikiron Farm and search there for the power source.)
- You end the conversation.
What’s all this?
I don’t know where this tremor is coming from.
If it’s not urgent, then just move on.
Even just drawing up a repair plan for the obelisk that the Hikiron Farm Draconutes damaged is incredibly time-consuming.
- You keep listening.
Has it been discovered that the power source of the damaged obelisk was moved to the Hikiron Farm?
Hm, then that is certainly the work of the Hikiron Farm Draconutes.
Apparently these creatures have been up to some mischief.
Defeat Hikiron Farm Draconutes. Then one of them will surely be carrying the energy source.
- You end the conversation.
Have the Draconutes suffered any damage?
And? What is their condition?
- I have recovered the Obelisk energy sources.
The reason both the obelisk at Philon’s in Phanoe Valley and the obelisk on the Hikiron Farm are damaged is that the Hikiron Farm Draconutes stole the energy source.
No. Why do these fools keep allowing their people to be abducted at the obelisk?
- I was just checking to see whether the problem had been fixed.
Reward
Hm, anyway we’ve found the cause. If you can find the energy source and bring it, the problem will be solved.
Once the obelisk is repaired, we must leave Balaurea! I can’t stand it here any longer!
Completion
Brigade General Versetti wanted to enquire about the situation in Balaurea and to meet Caceus.
Caceus said that whoever knows the windstreams in Balaurea has advantages in combat and movement, and he had Laokon, the maintenance soldier for air lines, give him detailed explanations.
After Laokon had explained the windstreams to him, he used a windstream himself and met Harami in Phanoe Valley.
At Harami’s request he investigated the problem with the damaged obelisk in Phanoe Valley, discovered the cause and took the obelisk companion he found among the Draconutes of Longlight to the scholar Wilbrossini.
