I was an adventurer once, Daeva, just like you.

I didn't make it very far, though, before I gave it up....

• "What happened?"

What happened? Oh, I was terrible.

I tried several jobs when I came back. After a while, I finally realised that fishing is what I'm really good at--and what I really enjoy.

I was able to make a living at it for a while, but lately it's become impossible.

• "Why's that?"

The number of Afaris in the river has increased far too quickly. They eat the other fish and have few natural predators to keep their numbers reasonable.

I catch them whenever I have the chance, but I can't solve the problem alone. Are you available to help?

• Accept.
• Decline.

Great! You can find Afaris everywhere between here and the Putrid Mire.

Oh, and please bring them back to me. It's the only way I have of making Kinah, you know.

• "Got it. I'll be quick."

The number of Afaris has exploded, upsetting the ecological balance of the river. Catch some of them, and bring them to Lano.

Ah, Daeva!

I'm so glad you've returned! Quickly, hand me the Afaris. If I sell them while they're still fresh, I'll get the best price for them.

• "Here..."

Wow. You're not terribly good at fishing, are you?

I've caught 10 Afaris in the time you've been gone.

Well, that's all right--it was your first time, after all. Go on, and return when you've got them all.

• "I'll be right back."

Great job!

Here--take part of the profit. It's only fair after all your help.

Lano survives by fishing, but he was worried that the Afaris have rapidly increased in number, surviving off the other fish.

You caught some of them in the river between the Eltnen Fortress and the Putrid Mire, and brought them to him.
