If we're ever going to get something out of the Artefact of Protection, we need to get it away from Yamennes.

He's been obsessed with the artefact for so long that his mind's scrambled.

You want to take on an insane titan who'd as soon smash you flat as look at you?

• Accept.
• Decline.

If you touch the artefact, its crazy protector won't be able to ignore you.

Make sure he's definitely out, and then test it. We've had some strange readings from it and need to be sure it works like it's supposed to. It's worthless if we can't use it consistently.

No, no. You don't need to come back to me afterwards. Go see Governor Michalis instead.

• "Will the artefact drive me crazy when I touch it?"

Releasing the Artefact of Protection from the influence of its crazed Artefact Protector should let it operate normally. Make it happen.

We’ve got a problem with the Artefact of Protection, winglet.

All our attempts to use it have failed miserably.

A powerful artefact, just sitting in my own fortress’s basement like a paperweight.

Could you help me?

• "Don't call me 'winglet.'"

Welcome, Daeva.

Aratus let me know you were coming. Is it true that you've fixed the problem with the Artefact of Protection?

• "Got rid of the crazy guy."

I don't care how you did it! You got the results we needed, and I thank you for that.

There's every chance this--and similar deeds--will advance your career, Daeva.

Aratus's investigators discovered abnormalities and inconsistencies in behaviour from the Artefact of Protection.

At his request, you defeated Artefact Protector Yamennes. His defeat meant an end to the insanity plaguing the artefact, and a return to its normal functions.

You went back to the Teminon Fortress and explained this to Governor Michalis, who was thrilled that the artefact could be used successfully.
