Story

The offer

Welcome to the temple, a facility for training Daevas for the advance into Balaurea.

As already said, we intend to train a small elite of Daevas in physical strength, intellect and skill.

The training will be hard. Can you still take it on and return?

  • ‘Yes!’

Then let’s begin the training right away!

The first exercise is to procure the supplies needed for combat.

Meet the Warehouse Manager Grer.

He will explain the exact details to you.

  • You end the conversation.

Journal

Tip: Accept the combat training in the temple of Pandaemonium.

Along the way

Welcome! Would you like to use the warehouse?

You can use both the personal warehouse and the account warehouse.

  • It is said to have been in the Novice’s First-Aid Chest.

Ah, it was a novice of Pandaemonium!

Oh, how did that get here...

We were only supposed to hand the recruits basic supplies, but the recruit who just came by seems to have received the last package.

I would like to give you something, but the warehouse is completely empty.

I’ll explain briefly how it works. Could you obtain the supplies yourself?

  • You keep listening.

In Pandaemonium there are merchants who sell consumables, equipment, accessories and other goods.

Among them, meet the general merchant Nekai and buy Novice’s First-Aid Chest, Novice’s Picnic Basket and Rookie’s Equipment Chest and bring them to me.

I’m asking you to do that.

Ah! If you have already completed this training before, you may be able to skip to the next exercise.

Skipping isn’t disadvantageous, but if you complete the training properly you’ll receive a small compensation. Think it over and decide.

  • You say you want to undergo the training.
  • You say you want to skip the training.

Did you bring the items I gave you?

The items I mentioned are the minimum combat equipment.

Before you go into battle it’s advisable to have such items ready.

  • You say you have checked the combat equipment.

You obtained the items much faster than I expected.

Whatever problem may arise in the future, you, Daeva, will be able to handle it well.

  • You keep listening.

That you carried out the task conscientiously from start to finish without unnecessary delay also deserves recognition.

Conscientiousness is the greatest driving force that allows beings to grow.

A reward for such conscientiousness will come back to you in some form soon.

  • You keep listening.

Now, would you like to proceed with next training?

Next... hm, it’s combat training!

Ah, but it seems Kvasir is calling?

Before you enter the upcoming training battle, please first go to the central assembly hall and meet Kvasir.

  • You end the conversation.

Ha, Daeva, I have been waiting for you.

Is training going well?

I heard you will be involved in the upcoming training battle. That’s why I called you; there’s something you should know beforehand.

  • You keep listening.

Combat is about more than just health and mana. As a Daeva you also need to learn to deal with divine power.

You look like you’ve never heard that term before.

Divine power is also referred to as DP. Did you know that only Daevas can use divine power?

But it cannot be restored naturally, in contrast to your health and mana. It is only refilled through combat or eating jelly.

You can store a maximum of 4,000 DP.

  • You keep listening.

Once you’ve stored up some divine power, you can use your Divine Power Skill.

Each class has its own DP skill, so you should make sure you learn about yours.

It isn’t easy to use DP skills, but they are very powerful. If you’re good at using your divine power, you can gain a decisive advantage in combat.

Any questions, noble Daeva?

  • You say no.

He seems either arrogant or completely clueless.

Well, you’ll find that out soon.

The next challenge is combat training.

The combat tournament takes place in the Pandaemonium’s underground arena beneath the Coliseum.

If you want to take part in the tournament, look for Garm. He will show you the way.

  • You end the conversation.

In the Triniel Coliseum you can face other Daevas.

If you want to know how strong you’ve become, use the Triniel Coliseum.

  • He says he has come for a training challenge.

Ah, so you’ve come here because of the combat tournament.

First and foremost, the combat tournament is truly necessary.

To meet the requirements, fighting prowess is the foundation; you’ll also need stamina, courage, a sense of duty and other qualities.

That’s why Pandaemonium holds such challenges during temporary events, so you can develop those abilities.

  • You keep listening.

The combat tournament takes place directly in the Pandaemonium’s underground arena.

Participants enter the arena and must face the oncoming masses of Elyos souls and fight them.

This gets you used to combat deployment and improves your fighting skills.

When you enter the arena, a Spiritmaster will summon the souls of the Elyos.

The objective is to defeat as many of them as possible within the allotted time. At least around ten...?

  • You keep listening.

Ah, even if it looks bad, you don’t have to worry too much right now.

You may be injured, but Daevas heal quickly, so that shouldn’t be a big problem for you, right?

Ah, combat encounters with enemies are important for assessing your abilities and for growth, but if you overdo it you could also lose a lot. If the enemies are too frightening for you or you have already had bad experiences, tell me.

Even if you give up halfway through, there are usually no penalties; but if you take on the task fully, you’ll receive a small reward. Think it over and then decide.

So, how do you want to proceed?

  • I will accept the combat challenge.
  • I will refuse the combat challenge.

So you failed to defeat ten Elyos spirits. That’s rather unfortunate, isn’t it?

So, will you now fold your wings and lick your wounds, or plunge back into battle at once?

If you want, I can send you to the Pandaemonium’s underground arena.

  • Please send me to the Pandaemonium’s underground arena.

You’re back.

Did you take down many Elyos souls?

Tell me, how many did you slay?

  • You give your report.

Congratulations! You have successfully passed the combat trial.

Hmm, is it just my imagination, or do you perceive a stronger scent?

Whether you were hesitant or not, the fact that you actually carried out the task is highly commendable.

  • You keep listening.

With this skill you should be able to go to Balaurea and hold your own against Balaur or Elyos.

But caution is advised. Carelessness would be dangerous, it’s just as important to refine your skills as it is to improve your combat strength.

You can train that part next time.

Now, meet the stigma master Aud.

She will explain something about stigma to you.

  • You end the conversation.

What are you willing to sacrifice to reach Balaurea?

In Balaurea the Daeva will take on many tasks and roles, but ultimately what matters most is the source power.

Then you should definitely use stigma.

Have you ever heard of stigmas?

  • You say that you don’t know.

Stigma Stones aren't just pretty to look at.

They contain the souls and the spirit of great Daeva who perished for Pandaemonium.

It is a great honour to bear Stigmas because through them we make direct contact with those who have died.

In this way I help to ensure that we remember the will of our ancestors.

  • You keep listening.

Do you know the proverb ‘seeing is better than believing’?

Sometimes seeing once is worth more than hearing it a hundred times.

Here, I’ll give you this stigma and a stigma shard. Try equipping them.

  • You end the conversation.

You have equipped a stigma.

How does it feel? Do you feel that something has changed?

  • You say that you don’t know.

That may be the case now.

But even if training alone can no longer make you stronger, stigmas and the powers of the choices hidden within them will make you mightier.

If you want to equip a stigma, come by sometime.

Now that the combat training is over, please go see Kvasir. He will be waiting for you.

  • You end the conversation.

It seems you haven’t tried a stigma yet.

Caution is good, but sometimes you have to jump before you hesitate.

Equip a stigma and then come back to me.

  • You end the conversation.

Greetings, Daeva.

As a Pandaemonium recruit you have already gone through a lot of training. How does that feel?

  • You give your report.

Reward

Is that nothing special to you?

Self-confidence is good, but do not forget your responsibility. On the battlefield that is also part of your duty.

Anyway, you have achieved a great deal. Rest until the next round.

Completion

Kvasir said he was luring a small elite unit into the Balaurea invasion, one that would corrupt the Daevas, and advised me to experience the corruption myself.

First I learned how to procure the supplies needed for combat, and gained basic knowledge of fighting and divine power from the class trainer.

I then sharpened my sense for real combat in numerous skirmishes, learned, among other things, how to equip stigmas, and afterwards reported back to Kvasir.
